Kiddle eye Diddle eye

Welcome back Special Lovers

It seeems Terrorists have taken to a shocking new campain by planting bombs in tins of Alphabetti Spaghetti.
A spokesman for the security Services has said If they go off it could spell disaster! Boom Boom!!

The District Nursey called today, purely to touch base with me and start my case-notes for home rolling. (Remember Ladies there's still time to enrol on the bedbath rota!)

I also was telephoned to arrange a Kidney Function test with the
Nuclear Medicine johnnies at St Marys, prior to chemo starting.
It seems Chemo is excreted from the body via urine so by measuring the kidney filtration rate one can avoid delivering more chemo than the body can deal with. The chemo dosage can thus be precisely measured and delivered having been tailored to the individual. How cool is that?

As I understand it, the test involves injecting me with some chemical (like a Barium Meal for an MRI scan) in the blood stream and then measuring the time it takes to pee a certain amount of it out.It should last most of the day and the Nuclear Medicine guys are involved because of the dose of isotope involved as well as the amounts of radiation to measure etc are very small.

Space age stuff eh bloggers?

(And you thought I was just taking the p**s)

Once the Kidney Test results are known, chemo can begin which will probably be in about ten or so days time.

On a personal front, at the moment I generally feel ok, albeit tiring rather easily. I need to remember to take life at a more sedate pace (difficult at times).

Changing environments i.e. from hot to cold and vice versa, bring on a painful cough until I can become acclimatised. I've got some industrial strength cough medicine prescribed and yes it does taste vile!
My partner Maria is looking after me splendidly, and life is probably as good as it can be. As i've said in earlier entries guys I count my blessings.

Catch you later Special Lovers
