Welcome to my life for Wednesday 11th.

It started early as Maria and I had an appointment with the Registrar at Fareham Registry Office at 0900.

All went well and the wedding is now booked for 1200 on Saturday 11th April 2009, (Easter Saturday)and will be a small family affair.

However gone are the days of 7 shillings and sixpence : The costs comprised an admin fee of £25, followed by a booking fee of £30 each, with a final cost for the actual ceremony of £153.50 - a grand total of £228.50 - wow!

We then went to the jewellers in Havant to finalise our choice of wedding rings - again all went well, mine is 18ct and Maria's is 22ct.

Next stop was to book the restaurant for lunch after the ceremony, again all went well and we were able to book all of our guests in with no bother.

We have a hall booked for the evening bash so everything is just about done and dusted.

To tell you the truth we were beginning to think that we were in a parallel universe as everything is going so swimmingly! Maybe people haven't realised that it is Easter weekend , or perhaps its part of the credit crunch where people are tightening their belts.

Whatever - it has worked in our favour so good for us!
