How true can words be?
As I said on the previous post I had been coughing up the claret for a couple of hours now as whatever it is is refusing to stop bleeding (weeping). Well it was either come up with plans for my own Black Pudding or call in the Cavalry.

This is a sharp reminder of how quickly my situation can deteriorate.
I spent the day quiet and subdued as peaceful as possible awaiting the results of tests etc. whilst my condition stabalised. Later that day the original diagnosis was confirmed and I was given some more antibiotics to calm the infection and bring my temperature down.
The next morning I had another blood test. this found that my platelets were down . These little rascals form part of the blood and help it to clot. the "score for a normal person is around 140 - 150.
Mine turned out to be 30 having been decimated by the chemo.
The "Cure" was to have a transfusion called custard by the nurses, and I would have to wait whilst a batch was sent from Southampton.
I met with my consultant and the doctor treating me, who informed me of how close I had been to "disaster", and re-iterated the fact that I must take things easy with as little stress as possible, when I was released back in to the world at large. If I was a cat I would only have eight left.
The rest of the day was filled by visitors and it was lovely to see you all. The custard arrived early in the evening and i recieved it asap. it was yellow and custardy looking, and took about an hour to go in.
After half an hour or so i was given another blood test. It had been decided earlier that a score of more than sixty would allow me to go home and luckily mine was 63.
We didn't have to be told twice, and cleared camp faster than a group of pikeys under suss, leaving the Hospital about nine in the evening.
It was lovely to be back in my own bed, along with a big bowl of ice cream.
