The Magic Doughnut

Hi Blogstars and Connoisseurs of fine wit.

Today was CT Scan day at St Marys Hospital. (somebody was on some good rates of overtime eh?)

My appointment was for 1045 where I was greeted with a barium meal. It's actually a white milky liquid that tasted vile . You have to drink it over half an hour and it helps to show up the various bits when they scan.

The process itself involves lying still on a "bed" or table that moves in and out through a ring.

The ring rotates quite fast and has transmitters and receivers that take electrical images as they spin.

These are collected and enhanced by a computer to provide a X section of your body, and obviously as the table moves in and out it gives a picture of your body as a whole or collection of slices.

Space age stuff!

We were out of there by lunchtime and met up with friends in Gunwharf.

Unfortunately there were too many people there for me and we had to retire (hurt) back to Casa Tinkler.

To be honest we still haven't recovered our sleep and rest from Saturday. So the rest of the day was spent dozing in front of the telly.

Toodle pip!
